Why We Love It
Firstly, we love this recipe because it features a nutritional hero…. The humble banana! This common fruit supports good mental health due to its high levels of tryptophan. Bananas are also super high in potassium and act as a prebiotic to create good gut health. Plus, we think you’ll simply ‘go bananas’ for the taste!

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2 tablespoons Food Matters Protein Superfood
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon maca powder
  • 1 tablespoon shredded coconut

Blend all ingredients together and enjoy straight away!

Why We Love It
This recipe was initially inspired from a trip in Dubai to help get Food Matters into the Middle East. A local friend recommended the ‘Turbo Charge’ with Spirulina and who were we to disagree? Upon returning home, we’ve made this amazing drink many times ourselves, and think it’s one of the best smoothies we’ve ever had!

  • ¼ cucumber
  • 1 sticks celery
  • ½ small pineapple
  • Handful of spinach leaves
  • ¼ lime, peeled
  • 4 golden delicious apples
  • ½ ripe avocado
  • 1 heaped teaspoon of Spirulina powder
  • Small handful of ice

What To Do
  1. Juice the cucumber, celery, pineapple, spinach, lime and apples.
  2. Place juice and Spirulina in a blender with avocado and ice and blend for 45 seconds.
  3. Pour into a glass and enjoy! As per usual, everything should be as fresh and organic as possible.

Why We Love It
This recipe is the ultimate proof that healthy can still taste phenomenally delicious. With maca powder for help balances your hormones and healthy fats to support reproductive health, this smoothie is decadent but deceptively good for you!

  • Approx. 1.5 cups almond milk
  • 1/3 cup (20g) walnuts
  • ¼ avocado
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon raw cacao
  • 2 heaped teaspoons maple or rice malt syrup (or sweetener of choice, to taste)
  • 1 heaped teaspoon raw cacao nibs
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of vanilla powder (or essence)
  • Pinch salt

What To Do

  1. Leave half the walnuts and cacao nibs aside. Throw the rest of your ingredients into the blender and blend until really smooth.
  2. Top with the cacao nibs and remaining walnuts.
  3. I would recommend making this the night before or, at least, half an hour before serving to allow the chia seeds to soften.
