Jon Fitzgerald

Jon Fitzgerald has twenty years of experience in the independent film, online media and film festival communities, a rare leader with a unique combination of skills. Currently, he is the Founder and CEO of 'Cause Cinema', a digital platform guiding audiences to the best movies in the emerging social impact arena.

As an author, he has written articles for numerous print and digital publications including, IndieWire, Film Festival Today and Moving Pictures. In 2012, he authored his first book, 'Filmmaking for Change: Make Films that Transform the World'. ​The 2nd Edition was released in October of 2017.

As a filmmaker with Cause Pictures, he has produced a number of award-winning documentaries (including FMTV movies, The Milky Way, Dance of Liberation and Warrior One); and as a consultant, he has guided many independent film projects through the maze of festivals and hybrid distribution models.
