Why 21 Days Is All You Need To Reset Your Health

The Food Matters Team THE FOOD MATTERS TEAM

To kick off the new year we are launching our flagship 21 Day Gluten Free on Monday, January 14th and we would love for you to join us - Learn More Here.

We spoke to the Food Matters TV community who participated in the 21 Day Gluten Free Program last year to get their thoughts on the program and how it has changed their unruly unhealthy habits. Here is what they said:

1. What motivated you initially to join in on the program?

Melissa: What initially motivated me to join was because it was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something to treat my mind, my body and provide me with some recipes and tools to do so. It was the combinations of all of the things offered: meditation, exercise, recipes, talks, factual data, above and beyond research.

Claudia: I was very stressed and run down from work and needed to look after my body better. The program looked convenient, i.e. I didn't have to think what to eat, just had to follow a preset plan.

Michelle: Over the last few years I had been working with a personal trainer who highly recommended FMTV for their wide content. Unfortunately, I was unable to continue with my PT but I was able to manage the subscription to FMTV and we started with the 21 day program. I had really become interested in nutrition during my training and I wanted this to continue. I wanted to learn as much as I can to help both me and my partner be as healthy as we could be. Once we subscribed and saw the content available I was more than happy with my choice to join FMTV.

2. How did you find the recipes in the program? Were they easy to cook? Full of flavor?

Lisa: The recipes are very simple and delightful. I am a foodie and love to cook, so I would tweak the recipes to my liking. I love the soup and would make big batches for convenience.

Melissa: Every recipe that I made I found easily accessible, full of health and full of flavor. I was amazed at the tasty replacements that were available. What I really liked is the quick video tutorial and ease of making a food. Time is important. The recipes were fast, tasty and healthy. Spot on.

Karen: I loved every recipe without exception. I did make a few slight changes so that I could use seasonal fruit/veg. I found them easy to prepare, cook and enjoyed the flavors.

3.  What were the biggest changes you felt after completing the program?

Michelle: As the program was not just about recipes, it also included daily morning yoga and meditations, it really seemed to calm me. I felt less stressed within myself but also at work. With also having full access to FMTV we have since included extra workouts, recipes and watched so many different, fascinating and informative documentaries.

Claudia: I actually lost weight and I think it was because of not having dairy or gluten over this period of three weeks. Plus no refined sugars or processed foods and very little meat. Also, it made it easier for me to cope with all the stress I was having at my job; my emotions were more stable and I was able to handle more. I noticed recently that the whites of my eyes seem whither which I'm so happy with. My skin has a healthy glow to it.

Lisa: Well I lost about 10 lb. I was eating dairy, wheat and drinking red wine almost nightly, so getting away from that was a huge advantage. My skin was much smoother and my sleep did improve (although initially it got worse for a bit) I think probably because of the nutrient dense food and no clogging/energy zapping toxic foods like the wine and cheese!

4. After completing the program, did you maintain the healthy eating habits you learned?

Lisa: After the program I have continued to eliminate alcohol and dairy, along with wheat, from my diet. I am mostly vegan (most days) occasionally an egg or two and maybe fish or shellfish once or twice a week.

Melissa: Yes I have maintained some healthy habits. I love the meditations and do them still, green smoothie is still my favorite, fritters with egg and onion are wonderful. I'm more aware of a need to meditate and try to do so. I feel that I need to repeat this same process over and over until it becomes a second-nature part of who I am. This is why I subscribed for a year. I really do appreciate the mind, body approach. I need more of this in my life.

5. Would you recommend your friends and family try the 21 Day Program?

Michelle: I have already recommended FMTV to my friends, family and co-workers, and pretty much anyone who wants to improve their wellbeing.

Claudia: Absolutely Yes! But you know how it can be when making recommendations to friends or family, they have their own ideas LOL! I have had comments about my weight loss and that my skin looks great.

Melissa: I would recommend the program to friends and family, and I have. Add to that co-workers. I truly loved it enough I've told friends, family, in-laws, coworkers and my massage therapist. We watched Dr. Libby in the office one day.
