Turkish Delight Smoothie

The Food Matters Team THE FOOD MATTERS TEAM

Tastes like Turkish delight but with the health benefits of slippery elm to help your digestive system.

Slippery elm has a therapeutic action that is very much as the name suggests - it coats the lining of your stool and makes it ‘slippery’, which can be an excellent antidote to constipation. As with any supplements, start with a small dose and build slowly the recommended amount that is specified on the packaging.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp slippery elm powder (start with 1 tsp and build up slowly if you are new to using slippery elm)
  • 1 frozen banana (peeled)
  • 1 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 2 tsp cacao nibs
  • 1 spoon honey, or to taste
  • Dash of rosewater essence (this makes the smoothie taste like chocolate Turkish Delight)

Method

  1. Blend all ingredients together and enjoy!
